The table displayed above describes the equivalent pitch transposition by semitones for the transposed notes.
Here's the PDF version if you have trouble in viewing the table in your device.
Question: How to transpose the pitch and the notes based on my musical instrument key?
Step 1: Find the easiest notes transposition by semitones.
We are going to use the song "You Are – Ron Kenoly & Darlene Zschech" as an example.
I wrote it's post description that we should transpose the notes by +4 semitones so that it will be easier to play.
If the post has no tips provided, find the easiest one by clicking the (Transpose Notes) "Up" and "Down" button.
Step 2: Determine what key is your musical instrument in.
Let's say, I have a key of Bb musical instrument, it's written in the above table that transposing the notes by +4 semitones is equal with transposing the pitch to +2 semitones for key of Bb instrument. If you have a key of F instrument, then transpose the pitch to -3 or +9 semitones.
That's it. You can play along with the music together with the transposed notes you're going to play 🙂
If the key of your instrument is not listed in the above table, then comment down below and I'll include it on the list.
what equivalent pitch transposition for EB instrument such as alto saxophone?
thanks
@jason_ryan_tobillo Hey bro. Guide for Eb is now available. Just let me know if it's not correct because I don't have an Eb instrument to try it out. Thanks 👍
